A clear partnership!
Our partnership with Fabrice Amedeo is based on strong shared values and a mutual understanding of the crucial importance of the energy transition. In 2024, our common goal is ambitious: to sail across the oceans and tackle the challenges of the Vendée Globe race using renewable energies alone.
Commit to preserving the oceans
To meet the challenge of a world tour without resorting to fossil fuels, the Imoca Nexans-Wewise is equipped with 15 m2 of solar panels, which will constantly recharge its batteries, and hydrogenerators as a second source of energy.
The vessel is also equipped with 3 oceanographic sensors to collect data at sea in order to share it with the international scientific community:
- CO2, salinity and temperature sensor to help scientists understand the effects of global warming on the ocean
- A microplastic sensor to measure plastic pollution and other forms of anthropogenic pollution
- An environmental DNA sensor to assess biodiversity by measuring the presence of living organisms in the ocean

I thank the Wewise teams for their trust. Our project is more coherent than ever since my boat now bears the name of two actors of decarbonized energy while we have precisely the ambition to achieve the Vendée Globe without fossil fuels. This is a great year ahead and I am more than ever committed to bringing all the messages and values dear to my partners and sharing a beautiful story about the oceans.
